Craps Tips

Here you will read all about crap tips and hints that will be able to aid you in your adventure into the deep and wonderful game of craps. So what you will find here is much the same as the rules but maybe by reading this section you will come away with a better understanding of the overall game of craps.

Brief Overview

Ok to start you will want to know who the shooter is. The Shooter is the person that is rolling the dice. The objective is to place a bet for or against the shooter. There are two available bets when doing this, the ‘Pass Line’ and ‘Don’t pass Line’. The shooter then rolls the dice and depending on what he rolls you win or lose. If you decided to bet for (with) the shooter you would have placed your bet on the ‘Pass Line’ and if a 7 or 11 is rolled you and the shooter are winners. However if a 2, 3 or 12 is rolled you lose unless you were the person that bet against the shooter on the ‘Don’t Pass Line’. In this instance you are a winner. Other than that if a, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 or 11 is rolled, the game is now in ‘point’ mode. This means that the shooter must roll ‘point’ before he/she rolls a 7, other wise the shooter loses.

Pass and Don’t Pass Lines

The ‘Pass’ line is used when you are betting with the shooter. The shooter must roll a 7 or an 11 for you to win. If the shooter how ever rolls a 2, 3 or 12 you will have wished you put your bet on the ‘Don’t Pass’ line, thus betting against the shooter.

Come and Don’t Come

If you walk up to the table and Craps is ‘On’ you are not able to place bets on the ‘Pass’ or ‘Don’t Pass’ Line, you have missed the opening roll and the game is in the ‘Point’ stage. However you can place a bet on ‘Come’ or ‘Don’t Come’. Again, one is for the shooter and the other is against. A ‘Come’ bet is for the shooter and ‘Don’t Come’ against. All you have to do is bet and hope the shooter either hits his ‘Point’ or not!

Big Six or Eight

This is exactly what is implied. You are betting whether a 6 or 8 are going to be rolled before a 7 is rolled.

Seven Bet

This is done when you are feeling lucky. So this craps tip is not for the weak at heart. When considering this bet keep in mind that you only get one roll of the dice to hit. After that if you didn’t hit it then you lose.

Craps Bets

These bets can be made at any time. Again with this bet you only get one roll of the dice. A craps bet is a roll of a 2, 3, or 12.

Hard Way Bets

If you are going for higher payouts, you might want to consider placing a few ‘Hard Way’ Bets. With higher payouts in a casino that can only mean one thing, that is that the odds of winner are less. The way you win with ‘Hard Way’ bet is to put your money on a double 5’s or double 6’s. With your money on double 5’s you need to hit them before you hit a soft 10 which would be any combination that adds up to ten that is not double 5’s. Another thing that will cause you to lose is if a 7 is rolled.

Craps Tips and Hints

If you are looking for a good time then just bet on the ‘Come’, ‘Don’t Come’, ‘Pass’ and ‘Don’t Pass’. These bets are for a novice player and don’t hold much risk. You are going to win almost 50 % of the time.

If you want to win big, one way would be to make ‘Hard Way’ bets. Remember that your odds are drastically reduced, but the thrill is dramatically increased. The best Craps Tip of all; go with a group of friends, relax and have fun.
